Free Trees for NJ

FREE TREES! 🌱🌱🌱😊🌱🌱
available for pick up starting March 31st
⬇️ List of 108 pickup dates and locations:
www.nj.gov/dep/treerecovery

Follow New Jersey Forests for weekly pick up location announcements.

🌿 Each NJ resident will receive five one to two foot tall bare root tree seedlings in a bundle.

🌿 All NJ residents are eligible and will receive trees at any pick up location.

🌿 Each event is run by the municipality—contact the municipal office with any questions.

🌿 Species distributed depend on what grows best in that area. Municipalities in the northern part of the state may receive sugar maple or black oak trees, while towns in the south may receive Atlantic white cedar or other species adapted to this region. Seedlings distributed to shore towns may include bayberry or beach plum, shrubs commonly found on dunes and in other coastal environments.

For six years in a row, we partnered with Arbor Day Foundation to give out over 500,000 tree seedlings total to New Jersey residents!
